Jacques Senat, the founder of LSCO, pays for the housing and schooling of the children. During the earthquake of January 2010 his electronics store in downtown Port-au-Prince, Haiti was lost and it was his main source of income to support the children. Because of this, new sources of income are needed. Currently, long-term and more sustainable forms of income are being explored to replace the lost financial support. However, until they can be established LSCO must rely on donations.
The children currently living at LSCO require significant medical help. The current process of medical care at the orphanage is need-based. As a medical problem arises, it is treated with whatever means are available. However, the funding for necessary hospital visits in such cases is scarce. Preventative medicine is a necessity. A system of regular physical exams by a doctor would mitigate the occurrence of any serious illnesses in the future. Regular visual and dental checks are also needed for the children living at LSCO.
In addition, the daily supplies required to keep the orphanage functional are required. This includes food and cooking-related supplies, medical items, school supplies, etc.
At this time your prayers and blessings are most urgently needed. If you would also like to contribute with supplies, volunteering, financial assistance, or otherwise, please contact us for more details. We welcome missions teams to come and get to know our wonderful children.
Your support and contributions will enable us to provide food, housing, schooling, clothing and medical attention for the children.
